Hot is Cool: A Cultural Dialogue between Finland and Hong Kong
OPENS FROM 10AM - 7PM
Culture for Tomorrow (CFT) is a non-profit organisation founded by cultural entrepreneur Adrian Cheng in 2017, to actualise design and architectural innovation. To celebrate its inauguration which coincides with the centenary of design nation Finland’s independence, CFT has joined hands with a group of design and cultural friends to create and curate the cross-cultural event “Hot is Cool: A Cultural Dialogue between Finland and Hong Kong”. To take place from 9 – 13 December 2017 at Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza, this event is endorsed by the Prime Minister’s Office of Finland as an official “Finland 100” centenary celebration programme, and is accredited by Hong Kong Design Centre as part of “BODW Satellite Events x detour”. The theme Finnish Sauna x Hong Kong Pavilion playfully takes on temperature and the two culturally symbolic social spaces. Young award-winning architects from Finland and Hong Kong will re-imagine these distinctive architecture and actualise innovative designs, setting the perfect platform for a series of inspiring cultural programmes, including sauna experience, design exhibition, cultural salons, creative workshops, reading and music performances. The event is open to the public, while participants are encouraged to interact and savour the seamless connection among design, architecture, lifestyle and culture.
